Dr. Craig S. Kohler D.D.S. M.B.A. MAGD has been practicing on the North Shore of Chicago for over 30 years. His dedication to his patients’ dental health is demonstrated through his dedication to the comfort and satisfaction of his patients, his use of cutting-edge technology, and his consistent pursuit of higher education.
Dr. Kohler is among a handful of dentists in the country practicing microaesthetic dentistry, an advanced treatment technique that uses a microscope and video monitor. The extreme magnification lets Dr. Kohler screen for early signs of oral health problems invisible to the naked eye and make precise adjustments during treatments.
His desire to give patients access to the same type of technology for thorough, consistent at-home brushing led him to invent Prophix, a video toothbrush and app system that lets you livestream your brushing, take pictures, and track your oral health care progress.
Dr. Kohler has always made continuing education a top priority. After completing his residency, Dr. Kohler went on to earn his Fellowship and Masters from the Academy of General Dentistry by completing 1600 hours of continued education. Less than one percent of dentists in the country earn this esteemed award. His pursuit of excellence motivates him to continue to seek out instruction from acclaimed experts to this day.
Dr. Kohler lives in Glenview with his wife, Jan. While running his practice in Wilmette, Illinois, he also teaches at Evanston Hospital and at the Spears Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. He enjoys training for triathlons and spending time with his family.
Our Outstanding Staff
Dr. Kohler has surrounded himself with a team of very special people,
all highly trained and dedicated to providing the highest level of dental care.
I’ve worked as Dr. Kohler’s dental assistant since 2004.
I love my job - I’ve always been passionate about helping people feel good about themselves and their smile. My favorite procedure to assist with is cosmetic restoration, where Dr. Kohler transforms a patient’s smile.
Dr. Kohler fosters an office that encourages all his staff members to actively pursue continuing education. Over the years, I’ve taken courses to administer Invisalign®, perform coronal polishing procedures, and provide prophylaxis (cleanings) for children. I appreciate how Dr. Kohler gives us opportunities to continue to grow our skill sets. We never stop learning! In my spare time, I love shopping, knitting kids’ clothes, and cooking for my family.
I joined Dr. Kohler's dental team in 2009. My role as your dental hygienist is to provide thorough and comfortable care. Teeth are important to me, and I take great pride in keeping up with my continuing education and being a healthcare professional.
I really enjoy working with Dr. Kohler, as he provides exceptional dental care in an office that upholds the highest ethical and moral standards. He is a wonderful dentist who takes the time to listen to each patient’s individual needs. Outside of work, I love to cook and travel. I spend as much time with my family as possible, as they enrich my life and make my heart smile!
I have enjoyed my career in dentistry for over 25 years! I started in this field as a certified dental assistant and soon after, graduated hygiene school from Loyola University. The last 10 years have been the most fulfilling because I have been working with Dr. Kohler, who has been an extraordinary mentor.
His skills and use of technology surpass any others and motivate me to go above and beyond. My goals are to help patients achieve and maintain a healthy smile for life, and to enjoy their dental experiences as we grow.
I am passionate about supporting the office and its emphasis on preventative oral health care and educating patients about keeping their teeth for life. I enjoy getting to know patients and assisting them with the administrative side of dental healthcare by filing insurance claims, following up about insurance benefits, and scheduling appointments.
I know that going to the dentist can be a scary or intimidating venture, so my goal is to help create a cheerful and reassuring atmosphere that calms people’s nerves. My favorite part of my job is getting to know patients and learning tidbits from each one. In my free time, I like to exercise, read, and find new independent coffee shops where I can a sip a mug of black coffee.
